Raised
in New York City, Lynn informally
started her tango training there many
years ago when she began her study of
ballet with Mme. Maria Swaboda of the
Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo and the American
Ballet Theatre School. Being schooled
in a plethora of dance genres from tap
to competitive ballroom to country &
western line dancing eventually drew her
to the beauty and passion of the
Argentine Tango.
In her quest for the best, Lynn attributes
her Argentine Tango education to Francisco
Forquera and Natalia Hills, Armando Orzuza
and Daniela Arcuri, Guillermina Quiroga,
Mariela Franganillo, & Luiza Paes
to name a few.
Rapidly gaining respect throughout the
Argentine Tango community, Lynn concentrates
on elegance and musicality in her own
dancing, emphasizing these details in
her classes and coaching. Lynn has received
training in the teaching of Argentine
Tango from Francisco Forquera (with whom
she taught), Daniela Arcuri (by whom she
has been certified as an instructor of
Argentine Tango), and Linda Valentino
(for whom she was an assistant).
She has also performed with some of the
most respected milongueros at Los Consegrados,
one of the largest milongas in Buenos
Aires.
As proprietress of the Casa de Practica
she promotes numerous Argentine Tango
performers and instructors in Los Angeles
as well as hosting La Milonga de las
Estrellas when exceptional visiting
maestros and performers are in town.
